Minister-Youth Talk --
Mr Teo Ser Luck (Parliamentary Secretary of MCYS) &
Mr muhammad Faizil (MP)
It has been a long time since i come face to face with ministers. The previous encounter i had was with Mr Chan Soo sen during Meet-the-people session at the Joo chiat Constituency. Casually dressed and putting up a friendly smile, the 2 ministers march into LT4 with pride. The minister-youth talk started off with a spark too explosive and intense for anyone to douse it. Heated and heavily loaded conversation was engaged , making the atmosphere so tense and horrifying. The first student who came up to make his verse was far too daring...crude finger gestures and heavily loaded words was how he carried himself in front of the public.
A few Questions posted were as such:
Do you think Singapore is a democratic country? Why are you choosing PAP instead of other parties to join? How are you willing to sacrifice your time for the benefits of the public? Do you think teens should be more involved in the world of politics? Etc.....................
Well, the tense atmosphere was slightly put off by comical remarks made by the 2 ministers as they started blabbering about their old days...How they meet their wives? How they managed to woo girls successfully etc......Subsequent questions directed were not bad though. It was indeed a fruitful experience! although i am not interested in politics at all, but it is fun and fascinating to see how people engage in heated arguments and how the ministers communicate with the youths!!
